Dec 1 is Disability Day in Alberta.

Cold Lake

The Northeast Alberta Regional Conference is in Cold Lake in 2008. Look for old friends, and you can make new ones. There will be great meals, a community council co-chair meeting, a Celebration Mall, a key note speaker, an Internet cafe, speakers, and service and merit awards.



January, 2008

Bonnyville Community Council has some great ideas to revitalize their Community Council Meetings. Go to Community Council News November 19, 2007 meeting to find out more.

What’s new at the Library? Want to learn more about email and the Internet? Check out the assistive workstations at the libraries in Athabasca, Barrhead, Westlock, Lac la Biche, Cold Lake, St. Paul, Vegreville, Bonnyville, and Whitecourt. The libraries want you to come by soon.



November, 2007

Community Recognition Awards by Northeast Alberta Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities. The Annual Conference was hosted by the community of Bonnyville in 2007. Annually Community Recognition Awards are given to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions of individuals, groups and organizations in communities that affirm the values by which the Board works and and strive to achieve.

Whitecourt

The Whitecourt and Area Transit Society now offers a Dial-A-Bus service to individuals with disabilities and seniors. They are hoping to expand the service soon. And they were awarded the Community Service Award for 2007 by the Whitecourt Community Council for their superb effort to launch this needed service for the community.

St. PaulSt. Paul Library received the Award of Excellence for their inclusive library project. Great work!!!



March, 2007
Lac La Biche

CLAD formally changed its name to Lac la Biche Disabilities Services.
