Hi. My name is A.B. and I am the co-chair of the Athabasca Community Council. I got voted in at the meeting.
I have a job. I work in oil field labour where I make parts for insulation for pipelines. I get paid for my work.
I like lots of challenges. One challenge that I've had is to get people to come to the Community Council. I talked to people and arranged for rides because I enjoy the meetings and interaction and feel that it is important to have a voice in our community.
I have lots of friends and have a quirky sense of humour. That is why my friends like me and I am nice.
I have changed a lot. I used to have a negative attitude but now it is so positive and I look at things in a different way.
I like to help people. I have two cats called Oreo and Pounce and they are like my kids. I live in an apartment with a close friend and my cats.
My sister has been a role model for me. She has been understanding and there for me when I have needed her. I have a very large family and they are also supportive.
I love Athabasca because of the hills and the river and the people.
I am involved at Blue Heron and Special Olympics. I am good at floor hockey and baseball.
I have a good support group and they help me out and are there for me.
Thanks for reading my story.
