Debbie Flett Puts Her Mind To It.

Debbie's latest achievement is the $495 that she's just raised for the MS walk to be held at the end of the month. "My sister has MS," she says, "My goal is to raise $700.00

And surely she will. For there's not much Debbie can't do when she puts her mind to it.

"I'm writing a book," she says with pride. "It's about the lives of her family, her parents, her sister and her cousins. I'm writing about what it was like when my parents were married, when they had me and my sister and our life after then."

Besides writing her book, the 43-year old volunteers at the Native Friendship Centre, bowls with Special Olympics, and is involved with the Mentorship Program at the local school. "I spend time every week with a girl in Grade 3," she explains. "We eat lunch, play games, use the computer, read books and go to the gym. Also, " she explains, "She just completed a cooking course."

Someday Debbie says she would to open a bakery or catering service. Getting married and have her book published are also hopes for the future.

Travel is also something to look forward to. She and her sister are planning a train trip across Canada. "I went on a cruise with my father," she says, "I got seasick." She adds, "There was a casino and I won money. I hope to do it again soon."

Knowing Debbie's energy and love of life we can be sure she will.
