'Knott' Your Average Girl - Kim Knott

Kim was born in Westlock, Alberta where she lived with her parents and her four brothers and two sisters on a farm. Kim is 33 years old and the youngest in the family. She is an auntie to many nieces and nephews. She is close to her family. She goes to many family functions where she is always the life of the party!

Kim lives in a house with two other individuals. She says that she enjoys her present living arrangement because she gets along well with her roommates. But Kim has a dream of someday having a place of her own. Kim is working to be as independent as possible in every way in her life.

She is very active in her community with two part-time jobs and a volunteer job. One of Kim’s jobs is working as the receptionist for Blue Heron Support Services Association. This is the same agency that supports Kim living with Down’s Syndrome. She gets along very well. When she has struggles she overcomes them with a little help from her friends and colleagues.

Some of Kim’s goals for the future include getting more fit, adding to her CD collection and winning the finals in Special Olympics bowling and floor hockey.

Kim finds the time in her active life to play the bongo drums, listen to music, hang out with friends, go to the movies and work out at the gym. She especially likes to go to church and sing along with the congregation.

Kim has a loving and supportive boyfriend and many friends and acquaintances that love her and think she is special. Watch that Kim go!
